General Dentist for Children in San Antonio
Dr. Carolyn Thompson
Dr. Thompson was born in Chicago, IL, and grew up in South Florida. She attended the University of Florida where she graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. She attended dental school at Nova Southeastern University where she dreamed of working with children. During dental school she was active with her schools Pediatric Dental Club and participated in numerous children’s charity events such as Give Kids a Smile. After graduating in 2016, Dr. Thompson has served as a dentist in the military and was stationed in San Antonio in 2018. She is married with 4 young children. Her family loves exploring the city and enjoying all that San Antonio has to offer!
Dr. Naven Taiym
Dr. Naven Taiym was born in Chicago and moved to San Antonio with her family when she was five years old. Since then, San Antonio has always been her home. She graduated from O’Connor High School, and then attended the University of Texas, where she earned a Bachelor in Biology. In 2010, she graduated from dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Early in her career, Dr. Taiym discovered her passion for treating children. Over the past 9 years her focus has been in kids’ dentistry. Dr. Taiym knows that honesty and communication are the keys to the relationships you build with your patients and their parents. She believes that patient and parent education is at the forefront of a lifetime of good oral health. Dr. Taiym is compassionate, fun and has a positive and outgoing personality.
Dr. Taiym is married to a pediatric dentist and together they have been blessed with three boys. When she’s not running around after her kids, she enjoys reading, hiking and gardening with her husband.
Dr. Erik Meza
Eduardo “Erik” Meza, DDS has recently joined our Center Stage family and is bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of dentistry. You may not know from his easy going attitude and longer hair, but Dr. Erik served as a Marine infantryman from 2000 to 2004.
After completing his service, he transferred into the University of California, San Diego where he divided his time between earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry, conducting chemistry research, waiting tables and volunteering at the UCSD Student-Run Free Dental and Medical Clinic. It was while volunteering as a medical assistant that he noticed the dental chairs and thus began his journey into dentistry which would take him from UC- San Francisco’s prestigious School of Dentistry, to a hospital based General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University- College of Dentistry, and eventually to Park Dental.
Currently Dr. Erik is working on achieving Fellowship status within the Academy of general dentistry, an achievement which requires 500 hours of continuing education and written examination. He has also recently earned the status of Master within the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology’s College of Sedation, a status held by very few general dentists in the country. This also demonstrates his commitment to patient safety and the disciplined study above what is required.
Outside of work Dr. Meza enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, traveling, and going on adventures with his daughters Kendall, Olivia and mother to the loves of his life, Joslynn.
