Tooth Extractions

There are instances when it becomes necessary to remove a tooth. This can occur when decay in a tooth becomes severe enough that the tooth cannot be fixed, or has caused infection in the area. Orthodontic issues or problems with wisdom teeth may also require tooth removal.

If your child’s tooth needs to be extracted, a pediatric dentist may perform the procedure during a regular checkup or schedule a separate visit. Sedation or nitrous oxide may be used to make your child’s experience as easy and comfortable as possible during the procedure.
